August 27-30, 2008

United Way of Coastal Carolina knows that people like you really want to make a difference in our community. You want to help others and United Way wants to be your partner. Our experience tells us that the best way to help the most people is to target our community's most serious problems and then focus on the underlying causes of those problems. It takes the whole community working together to be successful. United Way is the place where people gather across the community- people from government, business, faith groups, nonprofits and ordinary citizens-to tackle the issues that matter most. We currently fund 33 programs in Carteret, Craven Jones and Pamlico Counties. United Way is focused on changing lives, and improving our community everyday. We know that's what matters to you. Our mission is to mobilize the caring powers of communities. The United Way has been selected as a major charity for the BEAUFORT OFFSHORE CELEBRITY CLASSIC to be held August 27-30, 2008. You may visit www.unitedwaycoastalnc.org for more information on their organization.

For good. For ever.

Gregory Poole Marine Power is pleased to announce the addition of a second major charity to benefit from The BEAUFORT OFFSHORE CELEBRITY CLASSIC. The CCF is a local organization that provides over 15 grants annually to projects, events and emergency needs. From the Boy Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Broad Street Clinic to the Domestic Violence Program, Libraries, The Literacy Council and the Beaufort Historical Association, CCF is making a real difference in the lives of thousands of Carteret County Residents. In addition to their grant program, the CCF also awards 8 Annual Scholarships and administers several endowment funds earmarked for Education, the Marine Sciences, Humanitarian and Emergency Community needs.
Mr. Richard McIntyre, CCF President commented on the new relationship between the CCF and the Gregory Poole Marine Power BOCC. "We are completely thrilled and honored with this new partnership. "We look forward to providing lots of volunteers and supporting this grand charitable event year after year."
